Our Embassy in Pristina
The British Embassy represents the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Kosovo.
We work to build and develop contacts between Britain and Kosovo - at all levels and with all communities - with central government, municipal and people-to-people links as well as with the international community and non governmental organisations represented in Kosovo.
Working with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and Ministry of Defence colleagues, we analyse the political, security and economic situation in Kosovo. We work to communicate British policy on issues that affect Kosovo to a wide range of citizens and institutions across Kosovo.
The Ambassador directs the work of the Embassy. He is the representative of the British Government in Kosovo.
We have several different teams:
The Political and Projects team promotes bilateral political relations between the UK and Kosovo, provides information about British Government policies and Britain more generally to the media and individuals, conducts public diplomacy and manages the FCO's assistance programmes.
Our Defence Attaches are based in Vienna but visit regularly to focus on security issues and links with key organisations involved in development of Kosovo's security sector. A Defence Assistant is based in Pristina to provide a contact point for routine issues.
The Consular team provides advisory services and help to British citizens in Kosovo, including getting a British passport.
Our Visa team acts as an interface between UK visa applicants in Kosovo and our visa-issuing embassies, mainly the British Embassies in Skopje and Belgrade.

We work closely with our colleagues in DFID on a wide range of developmental issues and the British Council, who are responsible for promoting cultural, scientific and educational co-operation.
